Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
I’ve been doing a lot of writing lately and have always wanted to start a blog, but never had a reason to make it a priority. Until now.
Until my daughter’s grade 1 teacher decided it was a good idea to teach 6 year olds there’s no such thing as boys and girls. I figure if a so called educator like this can say whatever she likes to my child then why the hell should I be so afraid of speaking up?
I’m a mother, wife, daughter and sister. My husband is my rock. I’m a truth seeker by nature, which means I’m always asking why?
I don’t like incongruence. When things don’t add up.
I’ve worked in the software industry most of my career, bringing new products to market. There’s a product management motto that I’m quite fond of – it’s “Your opinion, while interesting, is irrelevant.”
It means you’re not the one who gets to decide what’s a good idea or a good product.
One of my first mentors started every new endeavour with the mantra “I’m just a simple product manager, what do I know?” He was a great inspiration to me and I always appreciated his time and patience.
So, here goes with this new endeavour… I’ll try to present some interesting food for thought. And I hope you’ll stop by from time to time.
